Coach roles

These include assessing clients,  leading classes (boxing,  kettle bells,  circuits,  barefoot running),  leading expeditions (long sea swims,  outdoor runs and treks,  triathlons),  giving workshops (only expected by Level 2 Wildfitness coaches).

Salary and the package

Abroad:  Salaries vary depending on your qualifications, experience and past skills.
(There is an average of 1 - 2 days off a week. This is usually in the form of 3 – 4 days off between each course - plus one day off in the middle of the longer courses) Included in the package is food, accommodation, flights (from UK, or the equivalent amount paid in contribution towards a flight from another location and travel insurance.

Training and certification

Lee Saxby
The training will be held by Lee Saxby whose study in the fields of
evolutionary biology, bio-mechanics, functional training and nutrition
has led to a pioneering approach to health and fitness.  Lee will
explain the science behind our philosophy of mimicking our natural evolutionary environment and lifestyle.

Level 1 coach certification:
 
Prerequisites:

-  Past a selection and training day (next one March 30th)
-  Reading list

Level 2 coach certification
 
Prerequisites:
 
-         Need to have completed at least one Wildfitness season and have obtained good client feedback OR attended 6                 afternoon workshops in London (held once a month)
-         Read reading list
-         Completed a practical test in barefoot running,  boxing and kettle bells
 

Wildfitness coach Level 3 certification:

Progression to level 3 varies from coach to coach and depends on their particular talents.  This usually takes the form of an apprenticeship with Lee Saxby and an evaluation of the coach’s ability to deal with the 20% of clients who don’t respond to the general principles of our programme.

9am  Introduction to the Wild ethos

9.30 – 10.30am  Wild diet  15 mins Q & A

15 mins break for tea etc.

11 – 12 am  Posture and movement:  Zoo to wild 15 mins Q & A

12.30 – 1.30pm  Break for lunch

1.30 – 3pm  Wild metabolism – Stress.  Including practical use of the breathing machine. 15 mins Q & A

3.30 – 4.30  Overtraining vs. intensity.   Injury prevention (warm ups).  15 mins Q & A session

2pm  Wild movement seminar given by Wildfitness coach level 2 with q and A from the group and feedback from Lee.

3.15 Boxing cont.

4.30pm  An introduction to the assessment.  The different parts,  and theory behind it.

Wednesday  7th May

 

Grading for certification day for Level 1s. 

9am  go through case study no. 4

9.30am The assessment practical session.  Including walking and standing awareness and the hip and shoulder workshop.  Each person in the group to assess someone else in front of the group with feedback from Lee. 

11am   10 mins tea break

11.10am  40 mins written exam consisting of 4 case studies. 

12am  Practical grading for Kettle bells

1 – 2.15pm  Lunch break

2.15pm Practical grading for Wild running

3.30pm  Practical grading for boxing

4.30pm  Review of the Wildfitness experience:  Itineraries of the courses,  the London product,  menu on the course,  actual class progressions.  Final question and answer session
