Milia Village

Wildfitness guests stay in Milia Village, comprising 13 separate guest-houses / rooms built on the foundations of an old village which was abandoned in the 17th century.  Relatives of an original inhabitant have meticulously restored the houses using traditional materials, chestnut wood and stone and ecological principles, creating an amazing “back to nature” retreat.

One of the charms of Milia are the rustic rooms which have natural rock slabs forming part of the floors and walls, small wood-burning stoves providing heating, split wooden horse box doors and basic, traditionally restored furnishings, all of which ensure that the accommodation blends harmoniously with the natural environment of the hardy Greek mountains.  One can almost imagine the houses sprouting up from the earth itself.  All rooms have a balcony or terrace to chill on and from which to gaze at the peaks and goats and breath in the fresh mountain air.

Power is provided by solar energy so in the evening the rooms are lit by limited electric light and candles – allowing you to adjust naturally to the day’s rhythms.  It is perhaps back-to-basics, but the modesty of Milia helps deliver a wild experience, an appreciation of simplicity and a bond with the natural surroundings that resonates with the course philosophy.
