Tara Wood

Tara founded Wildfitness in 2001 as a beginning in the movement towards a different definition of fitness and health.  Aspiring towards being in harmony with nature, Tara’s particular interest lies in our natural relationship with plants and how this affects our diet and health. 

Tara was brought up in Kenya and found that being outdoors, active and eating naturally can flip your mood and boost your health like no medicine can. After studying Biology at Oxford University and spending time in London she realized what a transformative effect this experience could make to people's lives so set about creating her perfect holiday from her family home in Watamu - a place she considered one of the most beautiful, healing and revitalizing places in the world.  Since then she has found other locations, basing the courses around exploring the secret places she finds with the help of the local community. 

Aspiring towards being in harmony with nature, Tara infuses the Wildfitness courses with contact with nature and continues to refine and evolve the courses.  Tara develops the courses with expertise drawn from people at the forefront of the natural and evolutionary fitness field. Tara is a kite surfer, climber and free diver.
